Let me first begin by defining what I mean by “ Visionary Leaders”. Visionary Leaders are the BOB in their field. They have become the Best Of the Best through their ability to lead and manage successful change thus transforming their organizations into the crown jewels in their industry.

In today’s world of virtual reality, Internet, information overload, massive reorganizations due to mergers, reengineering, rightsizing, everything is changing-fast! Business needs Visionary Leaders and the building of alliances and teams across departments and across continents, more than ever.

Today’s employees come to work with more complex decision-making skills. They are the best-educated workforce ever. In my opinion, the “knowledge worker” is as synonymous with the success of organizations in the 21st century as is the Visionary Leader.

This profound shift in business culture and the fundamental change in workforce skills and expectations demand new models for how management and employees work together. Traditional management approaches cannot adapt to or transition quickly enough to face today or tomorrow’s increasingly complex and demanding environments.

While we cannot predict the future, we should certainly prepare for the changes that will inevitably occur. Within this spectrum of changes and culture, the way to ensure that organizations obtain the best thinking and performance their employees have to offer, is to create an environment where people feel empowered, and where work groups are transformed into teams.

 (To be continued)
